The Creativity Project: Refreshing My Space

Using the new year to breath fresh air into my space.

My desk gets messy super fast. And it’s not just the space on which I write. My keyboard is a magnet for crumbs, my pen cup fills up too fast, my drawers are disorganized. It’s not a good look for the space in which I work.

So, I’m using the new year to get everything back into shape. This means that I’ve taken everything off my desk and the bookcase next to it to see if it even needs to be there in the first place.

Anything that didn’t need to be on my desk (most of the unused decorative notebooks) got moved away and my drawers got a deep clean. Heck, I even labeled my current notebooks for my novels. I’m not lying when I went hard on this project.

While I didn’t take a lot off of my desk and bookcase, moving stuff around breathed a breath of fresh air into my space. And I needed that fresh start energy.

It’s made it so I am more organized in my daily life, things get put back at the end of the day. Obviously, it’s too early to say that this is always going to be the case, but occasionally going through my desk (or life) and auditing it to make sure everything works keeps that fresh energy going.

And I shouldn’t have waited until the year started to do this. I need to be on top of my clutter points to make sure that my life doesn’t spiral out of control.

What little things do you do to get a fresh start? Let me know!
