The Creativity Project: Q2 Wrap Up and Q3 Goals

Resetting my quarterly goals

Quarter two is in the books and unlike quarter one, I’m not super pleased with how it turned out. I started a new job right as the quarter began and immediately had focus issues on getting my writing work done around my day job.

Quarter Two Wrap Up

1. Write 13 blog or medium posts. Incomplete. I managed to only complete 7 posts.
2. Read 13 books. Complete. I skated by on this one.
3. Type up Roll of the Dice. Complete.
4. Draft Starshot and Howler. Incomplete. Sort of. I didn’t actually plot this book the way I normally would so I am back to rewriting because it’s not a complete story.
5. Edit Press Start. Complete!
6. Plot Picking up the Pieces Complete
7. Draft Love in the Shadows Mostly Complete
8. Plot Callsigns book 2 Incomplete
9. Complete 1 30 day challenge. Complete. I did a wall sit challenge.
10. Finish 1 thing from 101 Things Incomplete
11. Read 1 craft or self-help book. Complete. I finished the Heroine’s Journey
12. Fill three notebooks. Incomplete. I only filled one.
13. 13 YouTube videos and 13 YT Shorts. Complete
14. Type up 91K words. Incomplete. I managed to get 88,540 words typed
15. Write 182 pages. Incomplete. I wrote 174 pages

Out of my thirteen goals, I successfully completed seven of them, with one almost finished. All things considered, I’m feeling very proud of the progress I made this quarter, even though I didn’t complete as much as I have in the past.

Now that I’m settled in with my job and new schedule, I was able to make up some of the ground I lost at the beginning of the quarter, but an illness in the last couple of days kept me from having a last major push to finish a few of the goals.

Quarter three is going to be interesting because I have two big events that I am going out of town for with the possibility of a third for work. I plan on frontloading my writing as much as possible to get ahead of the disruption these events will cause.

1. Write 13 blog or medium posts.
2. Read 13 books.
3. Publish Press Start.
4. Edit Roll of the Dice.
5. Type up Love in the Shadows.
6. Draft Starshot and Howler.
7. Draft Picking up the Pieces.
8. Plot Callsigns book 2
9. Complete 1 30 day challenge.
10. Read 1 craft or self-help book
11. Fill three notebooks
12. 13 YouTube videos and 13 YT Shorts.
13. Type up 92K words
14. Write 184 pages

I did cut my goals by one this quarter. I think I’m done trying to force myself to do the 101 Things in 1001 Days. I haven’t really looked at my list since the start of the year.
