The Creativity Project: Ending Strong
Ending the month on a high note.
NaNoWriMo is wrapping up. And as I shared last week, this one has been kinda blah. I’m not the only writer feeling it this year.
I went to the library this weekend to have some focused time to cross the finish line. And I made it. I crossed the 50 thousand word mark with five days to spare.
I could stop there. I won. But let’s be honest, I’m not done. The story isn’t done. Even though this book isn’t even on my radar for my publishing journey, I want to get it as close as possible to completed.
So I decided that this week, I want to see how many high word count days I can get. Most of NaNo, I’ve been consistent with my word count with no huge days. My highest day was day one with just over five thousand words. No 10K days, nothing super crazy.
Today was my 10K day. I forgot how exhausting they are. My brain turned to mush as I hit the last couple of words. Tomorrow won’t be as huge, but I wanted that win for this NaNo.
Now part of this is just for the dopamine rush of completing that many words in one day.
Part of it is to pump up my word count. I don’t need the words to hit my NaNo goal, but I want the words to complete my yearly word count goal. I’m getting close to the goal, but definitely needed the boost to get there.
I want to end this month and year out strong. Even if I don’t hit all of my goals, I want to get close.
